Tough Loss

Apr 12, 2011 - 22:56 GMT

Red Deer would front their best effort of the series Tuesday night, but it was not enough, as Medicine Hat pushed Red Deer to the brink of elimination with a 3-1 victory and now lead the series 3-0.

Kellan Tochkin would score the game's first goal late in the second, and would maintain the 1-0 lead through two periods.  Justin Weller would pull Red Deer into a tie 3:13 into the third, with Josh Cowen and Adam Kambeitz picking up the helpers.  Hunter Shinkaruk would get the game winner just under 3 minutes later, and Cole Grbavac added the insurance marker with 3:26 remaining.

Shots in the game were 29-27 Medicine Hat, while each team failed to score on 4 power play chances.

Game 4 goes Wednesday night in Medicine Hat.
